If you would like to read an exciting short story, at the
same time help its author, please consider making a donation, large or
small, for our small book. This short story was written by DJ, my
daughter, when she
was younger. It is about her
horseback riding adventure in the San Diego County mountains with her young cousins.
DJ is terminally ill and in the Spring of 2002, was given
only 6 months to live. With the help of a very dedicated doctor and
the people who love her, DJ is doing better. She continues to have ups
and downs, and due to medications being rotated regularly, she suffers from
various side affects to them. However, despite small complications and
set-backs, she went to mechanic school this year (2003) and has set small
goals for herself.
This story is dedicated to the memory
of DJ's horse, "Swiftwind", an Appendix Quarterhorse mare, and DJ, who,
when riding Swiftwind, won many awards and rode like the wind!
All proceeds from her book will go into a special trust
for DJ's medical costs and her daughter. You may
purchase the story by clicking below using a credit card through Paypal,
on a secure server, or you can make a donation alone using Paypal. You can
also
contact us if you wish to send a check, and instructions will be emailed
